Ever wonder what makes a great job? I have. There are so many things that go into a company and the employment. Researchers will tell you what makes people stay, and what makes them go. Surprisingly - it's rarely money. I have found that if you enjoy, truly enjoy what you do and or the people you do it with - than you will for ever remember that job as not just a good job, but a fantastic job.

I started working in the early 1970's at the age of 7. By the late 70's I had worked in a number of places including the local paper (news delivery), a couple of local resteraunts, a national resteraunt (Sambo's - twice), for a construction company, and for a failed basketball league.

Then in the late 70's to early 80's (the Marriott years) I was fortunate to have obtained a job a the local Farrell's Ice Cream Parlour (store #G-54). In any case, the hours were bad, minimum wage was - well minimum and the meal rushes were horrific! But my god - this had to be the best job of my life. We laughed constantly, and had endless fun. I miss each and every one of those folks, some who I have been in touch with over these past 20 plus years others who I have lost contact with. One thing is for sure - those days are gone and there won't be any like them again.
